look at the vfs website (you will get a link to it from consulate website). They have specified some particular HDFC branches in metros, where you can deposit the fee to get the receipt.

My new employer doesn't sponsors/transfers H1B visa. And my priority date is Dec 04 EB3 so I don't think that I would be getting my GC in near future!
As per the job I know this one is the safest since the new employer has never ever laid off employees in its entire history. So, I'm not worried about the job security, only thing which scares me is that if there is some problem in my I-485 and I get a denial whether I would be able to switch back to H1B?
Worst case scenario my wife has a valid H1B and I can switch to H4 and probably wind up the things here :-)

Is it permitted to enter the US on a tourist visa and while you are here, can you start working since H1B approval has been received? The reason I ask is that my some time is needed to set up an apartment, get SSN etc. and it would be easier to come a little early while H1B is being processed. Can you get the H1B stamped in the passport later in Canada? Thanks in advance!

Hi,
I have received the EAD card yesterday with No finger prints available. But we have done our Finger printing before the EAD is approved. Approx 4 weeks before.
Is this normal? Or i should contact USCIS about this?
I know some applicants getting their EAD cards before finger prints were taken for them No finger prints available makes sense.
Any responses are appreciated

Like will a IIO be able to look at one's receipt# and say if they have spoken to an IIO earlier that day or whenever that is?

Well, Not sure on this, I'm just guessing there should definitely be a process for the IIO to logs the converse/update somewhere for a cases he is attending too and it will be available for other IO's too, if you have any followup's and call again.

I donot think that these people are directly responsible for creating the issue in the first place....It is a reactive response to the anti-immigrant postures of many candidates...Also people like are us are not eligible to donate to immigrantList...Only citizens or premanant residents can contribute to immigrantList.....

It will great help if some body can help regarding this.
I had my H1B from A Company,Recently i have moved to B Company where i was asked to go to UK for Business purpose.I have yet to have stamping from B Company.I still have valid visa till end of next year from Company A name stamping in the passport.Will there be any issues for comming back from UK without having stamping.

Secondly, you don't need a new stamp as your old stamp is still valid but, make sure you carry all the H1 paperwork from your new company.

I checked the German Mission in the US website and there I-797 is not mentioned among the documents permissible as exception for Transit Visa. Best is to call the German Mission and confirm. When I spoke to them it looked that they were already aware of this confusion and gave me a definitive answer that I didn't need the transit visa.

Some where I read that there is no fee for renewal of AP. I am a Jul 07 filer and am not sure about this. Further already applied last year for Advance parole and traveled once. it got expired last month. I am applying for a new one again. So just wanted to know if I need to pay the fees $305.
So my questions are:
Does July 07 filers need to send the cheque for $305 for AP renewal. (My I 485 Reciept Date is Aug 2007)
Should we also include Biometric fee of $80?
And how much time approx is it taking these days for AP?

How long on average does it take to get labor approval into my lawyers' hands from BEC once it is approved (certified status shown on the BEC website).
