Is it ok if the address I�m going to give is different 'state' from the 'state' I�m living in .

Hi All,
I received I485 receipts from my lawyer, they are missing my priority date which is in sept 2002. Not sure why they are missing..
Did any one come across the same situation....

That is depressing to know.
Yesterday I have opened a SR using the Expedite Processing CSR Option by calling USCIS. Spoke to a good CSR who understood the mistake and opened a SR for correcting the EB classfication and expediting the case (sence USCIS Error is an option for Expediting cases). Lets see what happens with this.
Also have a good contact now in Senators office, I already submitted a inquiry through their office and waiting for response.

It often takes a few letters to be sent to USCIS before anything happens in such situations. It seems like USCIS sometimes disregards attorneys' letters. But once someone takes the letter seriously, you should see some soft LUDs on your case; although it does not always happen.

My Son is in India and will be traveling back to US on 1st September 2009 and His passport validity expires on 28th February 2010. Is it necessary for us to renew his passport while he is in India it self for him to enter into US?
Also our H1B validity expires by 14th January 2010.

Hi all,
I have a simple problem but can't get an anwer at the consulate because the person who's name is on the website to call is unbelievably rude even when I was very polite in asking 2 questions and calling him 'sir' all the time :(
I got my renewed passport yesterday and it doesn't contain my husband's name in the spousal name areal. So the problem is this:
1. I have applied for an H4 visa and I sent a copy of that application along as they requested.
2. All my proofs of residence were based on my marriage as the utility bill is in his name so there could be no confusion about the fact that I am married and the name of my spouse.
3. My address in India has been stated as my husband's address already but his name is not on the passport - is this really a problem?
4. I don't want to face any trouble when traveling as I'll be on an H4 with a passport that doesn't have hubby's name on it.
My question is:
1. Do I need to send anything else to them other than my new passport, an attested copy of my marriage certificate, and a $20 check for the return express mail?
2. Does the Washington DC consulate have an email address where I can submit a query as the two people listed on the website to call for passport problems do not seem to want to talk to anyone?
3. Can I possibly call the Chicago or SFO consulates to ask my questions as they seem to be better people (my hubby and brother got theirs renewed in these places)?
Please help!

I believe so....if your LC is approved in August, then your PD is August. It is not qualified under July VB.

Hi
I am applying 485 for me and my wife.My wife got H1 in Oct 2006 but she didnt work until now So she dont have any paystubs.So my attroney suggested to do it on H4 but her H1 is to be collapsed for that she is planning to go canada (not for stamping)and come back so that her H 1 will be collapsed and H4 will be there.I came to know from my friends that canada people are not givng any I 94 for visitors who travle by road.If we request for I 94 they are asking to keep the same I 94 which we have in our respective document.I just want to know how to get the new I 94 for her?
And also Please suggest If there is any way to apply for 485 without cancelling her H1.

It is now on a list that sets it up for a voice vote in the house and will certainly pass. Unfortunately though it has only two provisions- extenson of the conrad program by 5 years and an increase in the number of flex spots.
We are hopeful that once the bill reaches the senate, provsions for GC exemption and H1 eligibility will be added on.

Once they get your response, it will be added to your case and delivered to the officer who issued the RFE. He/she will then make a decision on your case. If at that time your PD is not current, your case can not be approved even if it is approvable, but will be sent to on hold, waiting for your PD to be current.

Brief History: I am working for a Food Processing company (A) in R&D. Company A was my sponsor for GC. I have been on EAD since Oct 2007 (filed 485 during July-Aug 2007 time period) :) . My I-140 was approved Jan 2007. My GC application was started in Apr 2006 - Perm process. Also, i still have my H1B(Extension) valid until Apr 2010. Company A uses a consulting firm for roughly about 25 - 35% of R&D projects.
Reason to change: I believe this opportunity will have a significant change/growth to my career.
Questions: :confused: Can i change my job to the consulting firm using EAD? What are the consequences i should expect from USCIS? Does the Consulting company have to get involved with any Immigration fillings?
If i decide to work for the consulting firm, i will still be doing the same job for Company A but as a consultant + I will have additional projects with other Food Processing companies. I think labor application job description won't change (Company A to Consulting Firm) and this is where i struggle to understand the rules. Need your thoughts and Advice.
