Cleopatra is absolutely right. You could use the job experience from your existing employer if your new responsibilities are 50% different than the old one. I have spoken with my company lawyer and he was the one who provided me this info.

I am pretty excited as this was the best thing I could hope for at this point. I have entered the DV before and was never selected.
I wish I could afford a lawyer to assist, but that doesn't seem to be an option for me right now.
Anyone has any ideas and the turn around time once I have submitted the paperwork and when to hear back from them for an interview?
you should get a lawyer man. Friend of mine paid $3500 for a good lawyer to process the paperwork when he won the GC lottery, he got all the peace of mind in the world, and his GC soon thereafter.

Let me add one more wrinkle:
Do you guys think I would lose my right to use EAD if I move to another employer by transferring my H1B? (I still have 2 years on it).

To answer in short...You will loose your right to use EAD if your I40 is still pending and your employer decides to revoke it...

OK...so your main interests for this lens are landscape, concert, and sports phototography. First off, when I say the lens is variable aperture from 3.5 to 5.6, that means at the low end f the zomm the aperture will be 3.5. At the long end (200mm) the aperture will be 5.6. The higher the number, the smaller the aperture. The smaller the aperture, the less light gets let in. When less light gets in two things happen, your shutter has to be open longer. and you get more DOF. This will effect your intended shooting situations. Concert photography requires large apertures (smaller f#s). So shooting with that lens in a concert setting will be difficult on the short end, and almost impossible the majority of the time on the long end. 5.6 will require a very slow shutter speed in that circumstance. Same for indoor sports. For landscapes and daylight work, you should not have a problem.....hope this helps a little.

So you have me at a disadvantage when you speak of limitations of a lens that goes to 5.6 on the long end. Basically I'm looking for a affordable zoom for landscape, concert and sport photography. I've read several favorable user reviews but then not knowing the source of these reviews you don't know if they also gave four and a half stars to a coke bottle. Reading through posts here on the forum I can tell who are the professional photographers by their equipment knowledge. So saying that there are opinions I would find more valuable than others. In a nutshell I have found the lens in question on Ebay at a current bid of 250 dollars. If I am correct this is half of what it lists for. I'd just like to know if it would be a good buy/good lens for a aspiring photographer to begin expanding his lens arsenal with.

I recently applied for EAD renewal and after three weeks of that I saw LUD changed on my 485 apllication for consequetive two days. Any Idea why ?
By the way my case is ACT 21 ( 485 filed on 2007 july) and my priority day is not even close to be current.
Any suggestions will be appreciated ?

07/07/2007: USCIS Reportedly Admitted Some I-485 Approvals at Last Minutes Without Completion of FBI Security Clearance

"To complete the applications in time, the immigration agency put employees to work both days last weekend at service centers in Texas and Nebraska, immigration officials said. They said that 25,000 applications were processed in the final 48 hours before Monday�s deadline. In some cases, security clearances required by the F.B.I. were not entirely completed, immigration officials said. The agency approved some applications �when we were certain the process will be completed very shortly,� Mr. Aytes said."
* The report also indicates that the State Department and the USCIS tend to disagree with each other for the root of the problem for the current fiasco. Earlier there was a report in the Washington Post that the USCIS denied that the USCIS worked ceaselessly and frantically during the weekends (two days) before July 1, but it has been admitted since then the employees indeed worked hard during the two days. According to the NY Times report, during the weekend alone, they approved 25,000 I-485 backlog applications.
* We are afraid that the alleged admission of approval of I-485 application before completion of the security clearance is likely to face the legal challenge for violation of the rules which is likely one of the main claims of the AILF lawsuit as well as the political backfire as an issue of security lapse relating to the homeland security. I suggest that IV be even concerned about ppl in the pre-application stage like myself. I havent even filed a labor yet as I have no employer (am a PhD student.) I would like IV to take up issues that concern PhD students, for e.g. the current proposals in the PACE bill that appear to exclude current PhD students (as opposed to future "F-4" PhD students) from automatic AOS benefits 1 year after graduation. This is a large constituency who can be mobilized for IV if IV decides to pursuse this. It is actually a very commonsense amendment to PACE that can be included in the bill if the right people are informed about it. I have drafted a very detailed letter and can make it available here.

Before I say any thing further, I want to clarify that I am NOT asking for any action but want to point out to a unique Gandhigiri protest idea proposed by one of our members:
On one of the posts rajmehrotra suggested "Something like a mass blood donation drive will garner empathy and publicity in a positive way." This was seconded by another member Gravitation. Not sure what other people think but I personally liked this idea very much.
So please save this idea for future use if others also recommend it.

Funny, I was just in my local camera shop last weekend and brought up the idea of upgrading my D70 to the new D80. The guy in the shop said there really wouldn't be much in the way of noticeable differences in what I have now and mentioned the D200 would be the better way to go, the list of reasons right now escapes me but I thought I'd just pass that info on.
