Would it be too much to add a second thread that talks about contributions to IV when i look at 5 threads at the top of the list that all track LUD's :)
This spurt of LUD-related threads is a symptom of the COLTS outbreak that has been reported recently. This epidemic seems to break out every time VB jumps ahead a few notches :)

To complicate things further, cloture on 9-11 responders failed by 57-42. Republicans are not willing to let anything go till Tax cuts bill is undertaken.
The breaking news is the House Democrats have decided not to undertake Tax cut bill in the House, meaning the new tax cut deal announced by the President will not hold good anymore.
Its anybody's guess what will happen next. Key leaders from both sides will go behind closed doors to figure out how to make it happen.

interesting. but it still does not answer one question: What happens if you continue working on H1B for primary employer per guidelines of I-129 petition (ie. 40 hours a week) and then use EAD to work part-time for someone else.
Does that 'kill' the H1 petition? MOst lawyers say it does, a couple of them say it does not, since you are fullfilling all your I-129 requirements with your primary employer
This is a gray area, but, my take is, it will void your H1B. See, the logic is this.... EAD is not a status. It's just an employment authorization, just like AP is a travel parole document. You have option of two status:
1. Non-immigrant status (H1B/H4 etc).
2. Pending AOS status.
You can't be in US on both the statuses. So, without being in status 2, you can't invoke EAD, but when you invoke EAD, you are in status 2, so, lose your H1B.
I might be wrong though.

I140 filed Sept. 2006 and approved Oct 2006 with Company A.
Left Company A and joined Company B in March 2007 (172 days after I140 approved).
Filed I485 in July 2007 (Medical RFE received and answered in 2009 - implies possible pre-adjudication??)
While with Company B started new EB2I process for a similar job profile (lawyer thinks it is close enough for portability) with PD Oct. 2008. I140 approved June 2009.
With current rapid movement in EB2 cut-off dates, if I become current in Sept 2010 what is best course of action to ensure I receive and keep the GC that is based on application sponsored by Company A?
1. If I get GC, just keep working for Company B (lawyer thinks this is just fine to do).
2. If I do get current in Sept 2010, try to capture PD of first application and use for application sponsored by Company B?
3. Get the GC and move back to company A?
4. Any other options??

I had my FP done at San Jose ASC and It took us around 15 min for the entire process of filling the forms,waiting to be called for FP and doing the actual FP.
The lady asked me to sign on an electronic pad(some people reported that they were asked to write their full name and sign at the bottom) which I did and she gave us some feedback forms to fill out and drop in the suggestion box.
It was easy for me to locate the ASC because i used to commute by Charcot drive to take 87 on my way back home from my old office :)
A friend of mine went without the receipt. Only his wife had the receipt. They printed his receipt right there... Even tho his appnt was a week later they did his FP the same day... he had no problems with the security guard... I guess its just ur luck!

No bill was introduced in Senate. Where is the question of voting? If anti immigrants some how make waste these 2 weeks of time in Senate then there will not be enough time to discuss. Now 60% chance. If no bill is introduced in Senate before end of may it will come down to 40%.

If you don't send the name change request with supporting documents before your wife's I485 is approved you will end up spending another $370 for filing I90 ( the fees includes bimetrics fees which is mandatory for I90)

That's true for my case. My labor certification was denied once due to the naive aknowledge of my para-legal attorney. It caused my LC was delay 1 year then I was stuck by Retrogression. Again at filing I-485, if I have not carefully studied the immi laws and reviewed my case, my attorney might mess it up. Many times I found my non-professional, clumsy knowledge on Immi laws is even better than my para-legal attorney

Forgive my ignorance, but would you be able to use the extension tubes mentioned above with a third party lens like the Sigma Gary mentioned? Obviously the Sigma lens would have to be a Nikon mount since the tubes mentioned above are Nikon, but assuming the mounts were the same would that work?

I have changed the job on EAD and used AP for returning back. To be on the safeside I have notified USCIS service center about my AC21 change and kept the copy of the package sent to USCIS.
On our return in EWR, we have been sent to secondary inspection. IO asked whom I am working? I said my new employer's name? He took our copies of AP and stamped I-94 as parolled.
On our return in two days our greencard was also approved without any RFEs.
Again it depends on I/O in the port of entry I guess.

Guys, I am in the same boat with my passport expiring in 2007. I will have to get a new passport since the current one was already valid for 10 years (issued in 97).
Does any one here have any experience / ideas on how long it takes to get the new passport from the consulate here ?

If black and whites are acceptable then i think you can make copies of an existing one, just make sure you copy it at your employers copier that too in the working hours, that's the Cheapest way of doing it.:D
